Sensodyne

GSK has launched a new toothpaste that targets both sensitive teeth and gum problems. With research showing that 44 per cent of sufferers of tooth sensitivity adjust their brushing technique to avoid sensitive areas, Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum will help patients prioritise both conditions, says GSK. In original and whitening variants, a 75ml tube retails for £5.00.

Food and drink can irritate and intensify the pain of mouth ulcers. Iglü mouth ulcer treatment is formulated with bio-adhesive technology to stick fast over the ulcer forming a protective barrier that doesn’t slide off, soothe the pain and fight infection, as well as shielding the ulcer to help speed up the healing process, says Dendron.

Dentogen

Dentogen Clove Oil Gel (10g, £2.99) provides soothing and fast relief from toothache caused by dental cavities. Clove oil is a natural local anaesthetic and is also antibacterial, says Crescent Pharma. The company says the gel formula should be applied to the decayed part of the tooth using either a clean fingertip or cotton bud, repeated after 20 minutes and then every two hours if required.

Care Chlorhexidine Digluconate 0.2% w/v Antiseptic Mouthwash is used for the treatment and prevention of gum disease. It reduces the formation of dental plaque and helps prevent denture sores and gum ulceration, says Thornton & Ross. The mouthwash is available in both peppermint and aniseed flavours.
